Field Notes Soft Machine
Design notes on building a quiet poster-led portfolio system.
Coming soon: notes on making the portfolio quiet enough to read and memorable enough to return to.
That is the shape of the system here. Soft surfaces. Poster rhythm. A logo that can sit in the corner like a signature without shouting over the work.
Why a soft machine
A machine, because it runs on rules — a grid, a palette, a single accent. Soft, because none of those rules should feel like walls. The reader should glide, not click through gates.
The aim is a page you can sit with. Nothing blinks for attention. The motion exists only to carry you between ideas, never to perform.
